Bug Description
Binary package hint: system-
If you go to System-
This is obviously not workable on Ubuntu where root has "no" password and the ideal situation is to use [gk]sudo or so to elevate privileges.
If the user is not in the Printers group then he should be asked to enter the administration (sudo) password and not try and be root if possible. If root account and permissions are required (i.e. sudo is not enough) then the dialog should notify the user that they should enable it in Users & Groups rather than asking for a password which does not exist by default.
