gtkpod issues with tracks on iPod device

Bug Description
Binary package hint: gtkpod
Using gtkpod to transfer songs onto a 4GB 2nd Gen iPod nano, user is unable to shuffle songs on the device. Songs will stop playing and the device must be rebooted if the user decides to shuffle songs. Please note that Hardy is being used to test this and that the iPod was a fat disk that was setup in itunes on Windows. Please let me know if there is a way to clear and reset the iPod settings/database under Ubuntu so that it plays friendly with gtkpod.
As well, when looking at songs from the "Songs" menu on the device, the track name is displayed:
ex: 01 Trackname.mp3
When looking at songs from the "Artist" menu on the device, the Song Name and Album are displayed:
ex: Song Name
