Are you running Feisty and the latest Sysinfo version (0.7-0ubuntu1)? (This bug is known to exist on Edgy, but already fixed in the latest Mono-based code)

This bug has been introduced again after one of the last update of the UBUNTU 7.10 GUtsy.

The shutdown procedure doesn't terminate till the proper shutdown and the last line of messages is :

nm_dbus_signal_device_status_change assertion
cb_data -> data -> dbus_connection failed

This now happens every single shutdown on y Samsung Q45 Ubuntu 7.10 which was working fine since a few weeks ago

Thanks for your help
Danny

Yes, i confirm in hardy too. Gshutdown "log out" my computer instead of turning it off, the program is only working when I'm real lucky.

Thank you Stefan
for you ILLUMINATING reply.

Could you please tell me WHAT should I uninstall and reinstall : that
would be handy.
Because of partitioning reasons I have already tried with the entire
UBUNTU 4.08 and nothing happened.

Thank you for your reply
