Bug Description
Binary package hint: grub
Installing Dapper on a ThinkPad T43, with an existing Windows XP SP2 install. manually resized the NTFS partition, using some free space for a FAT32 partition and then did a default Dapper install into the remaining space.
Dapper installs and (re-)boots fine.
The first time XP is booted CHKDSK is run because it detects that the hardware configuration has changed. XP then "fixes" something (the MBR?) so that when rebooted grub runs and says
GRUB loading loading1.5
and gets no further.
Booting from the CD and reinstalling Dapper (and GRUB) only permits XP to be booted once, when it makes the same change.

This sounds like a bug in the installer/resizing gear, not grub.
(but i could be wrong)
