Bug Description
I suspect the proble lies with the golang-mode package, since I do not see this behavior when using emacs to edit python source code or plain text.
As I described in the summary, copying by selecting text with the mouse, followed by typing CTRL-y to paste it causes emacs to freeze; it does not respond to any more keystrokes, and the mouse does not work either.
The only way to close it is to find the pid and send it a -9 kill signal.

Re-assigning to the go-mode.el package but that is pretty stale now. I get go-mode.el from elpa, myself.
