Full screen terminals don't fit on larger monitors

Bug Description
When you press CTRL+ALT+F1 to F6 in order to use the full screen text terminals, the text does not fit properly on larger "widescreen" monitors. My monitor is a widescreen 24" Asus monitor and the full screen terminals have small text and it stays within a "square" surrounded by lots of unused black space.
I use DOSBox version 0.74 in full screen and the characters fit perfectly on the same 24" monitor.
