Gnome-terminal in Ubuntu Unity shrinks to minimum size

Bug Description

When I open a terminal in Ubuntu 15.04, it shrinks to 1 character by 1 character. I can use the corner resizer to make the window bigger, but it immediately shrinks to 1x1. There are a few x,y combinations that allow the window to stay at the desired size, but if you're off by a pixel, the window shrinks to 1x1.

There is another question (http://askubuntu.com/questions/423733/gnome-terminal-in-kubuntu-shrinks-to-minimum-size), Gnome-terminal in Kubuntu shrinks to minimum size, that is basically the same thing, but in KDE. I tried to follow the instructions:

In KDE, go to System Settings. Return to the overview if you are not already there. In the Workspace Appearance and Behavior section, click Window Behavior. In the area to the left, click the Window Rules icon.

but, there is no Workspace Appearance and Behavior section. I couldn't find a similar setting in ccsm, gnome-tweak-tool or unity-tweak-tool.

Is this the computer you experience the issue on? I've seen this before but only in when using libgtk-3-0 3.16 (your Dependencies.txt says 3.14).

I'm sorry - I tried hard and I can't make it happen on 15.04 :(

I just linked this bug to the upstream one. Hopefully a solution will be forthcoming there or 3.16 fixes the problem for you...

I can confirm that I see the same behaviour (100% reproducible when creating new tabs) when using the zukimac theme.

$ sudo dpkg-query --show compiz unity zukimac-gtk-themes
compiz 1:0.9.12.1+15.04.20150410.1-0ubuntu1

zukimac-gtk-themes 1.5

Changing to the standard Ambiance theme and gnome-terminal behaves as expected.

I can also confirm this is happening with the Paper theme linked above, and is "fixed" if I switch to the default Ambience theme.

Just to add...

When I switched to Ambiance, I opened a couple terminals that acted normally. I left them open and switched to Paper theme. The ones that were open already continued to work correctly.

However, upon opening another terminal (from in the paper theme), that one had the bug, but the originals opened while in Ambiance continued working correctly.

I'm on the Ambiance theme with 15.10 and I see my gnome terminal windows shrink gradually, getting smaller and
smaller, losing rows and columns over time. They don't go down to 1x1 instantly. It's gradual. I periodically resize them
back up to 80x24. This sticks for a while but then as I use the computer they terminal windows start to notch down in
size.

Appears to be working in Ubuntu 15.10, Gnome Terminal 3.16.2, Adwaita and Ambiance themes!
