Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools
When creating a group using System > Administration > Users and Groups, once the tool is closed, going again into it the newly created group doesn't show up.
I tested this in Lucid and it behaves as expected.

I can confirm this bug. In Ubuntu 9.10 add group using GNOME's users-admin (Users and Groups).
When a group is added though Users and Groups, it is not actually added.
deleted when exiting
Steps to reproduce:
1) Open users-admin (System > Administration > Users & Groups)
2) Unlock the application
3) Add a group
4) Close users-admin
5) Open users-admin
6) Click on "Manage groups"
What happens: group that was added is now no longer in the list
Expected: After adding a group it should still be in the list
I have tested this in Lucid and it seems to be fixed, however I feel that this is a basic enough system function that the fix (if possible) should be backported to karmic.
