Bug Description

I've got a bluetooth logitech keyboard[1] with belgian layout. That PC is running ubuntu quantal with GDM and gnome-shell (installed ubuntu-gnome-desktop). I've set the layout to belgian in gnome-control-center and it worked fine. But each time I reboot the layout is qwerty again, I go back to gnome-control-center and it still says the layout is belgian. I have to:
1) temporaly add another layout
2) remove belgian layout
3) add belgian back
4) remove the temporary layout

I'm taking a guess on what package this bug might belong to, because I think that's better than no package at all. But sorry, g-s-d maintainers, if I'm wrong. Thanks.

affects: ubuntu → gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu)

This bug has probably no link with gnome composants. The bug affect me, but i'm using kubuntu. This bug is old, really old, and affects only bluetooth keyboards.
If I start my computer and try to write something with the bluetooth keyboard, I'm not in azerty layout but QWERTY. If I do the same but with the Standard USB Keyboard, the layout is AZERTY as expected.

And something strange : when I start computer with both keyboards connected, if I use the Bluetooth one first, it is using the QWERT Layout, but when I use the USB Keyboard, the layout switch to AZERTY. And then, when I type again with the bluetooth keyboard, it is endly using the AZERTY layout as well.

So I think that the automatic layout detection does only work with standard USB Keyboard. WIth a bluetooth keyboard, the default layout is used (US or EN), as long as you don't set it manually at each restart, or as long as you don't use the USB keyboard...

I hope I was clear enough
