Bug Description

Recently, compiz dropped support for multiple X screens. I discussed with Sam Spilsbury about it, his answer is pasted below.

Seems an unlikely case to support, but would be in the session as the comment says, not the display manager.

affects: lightdm → gnome-session (Ubuntu)

I would like to add my support for running 2 x screens at once.
I have searched many hours for a solution to this but always seem to come up against too many technical hurdles or roadblocks.
If there is a possible fix for this which just requires a patch to gnome-session, could someone please implement that.
This would make the many users I have encountered during my search for a solution to this extremely happy.
Maybe we could finally have a distro which supports multiple X Screens, each with its own set of panels, workspaces, etc.
Support for this seems to have been ignored for several years, since the days of gnome2.
