Bug Description
On a MacBook 3rd gen first three brightness levels are the same (backlight off). This causes some undesired behavior. For example when "dim display when idle" in power management settings is checked the screen goes off instead of dim. Solution should be ease - just get rid of the first two levels leaving only one "off" state.
