Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

On Hardy heron beta, the screen brightness of a laptop gets reset to 100 % on resuming from suspend.

Steps to reproduce are as follows

Enable suspend if laptop lid is closed in the power management utility

Close the laptop screen

Wait for the system to suspend

Reopen the screen.

Changing a bunch of values in gconf-editor , solved this problem.

Changing the values for gnome power manager didn't really solve the problem , as I had mentioned before. I'm now using Icewm , without gnome-power-manager and the problem with the screen brightness still exists. I suppose this is a problem with acpi , rather than with gnome-power-manager.
