Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-panel
the text of the clock applet is not at the same level as the other text applets (like fast user switcher, main menu).
It's just one pixel lower, but it move an applet next to it, you immediately notice it. It just don't look nice, even just for one pixel. Personnally I put the fast user switch next to the clock, and I can see clearly that my user name is slightly above the date. No huge deal, but a polished design is all about coherence. Can it be fixed?

Thank you for your bug. What version of Ubuntu and locale do you use? I don't get this issue on my gutsy installion all the panel applets I tried have the text aligned, verified using gimp and drawing a selection line. Could you make a screenshot of the bug?
