on login to xfce desktop, orca opens a terminal window with an error message

Binary package hint: gnome-orca

Terminal opens, orca announces "Welcome to orca", and produces error message on terminal.

error message is:

System is Narwhal, orca is 2.91.90-0ubuntu2

only occurs with xfce desktop, not serious

I'm seeing this too; exactly the same symptoms, but on Lubuntu/LXDE.
