Bug Description
Steps to reproduce:
1. Install `gnome-font-viewer`
2. Download TTF font (for example Symbol from https:/
3. Try to open downloaded font with `gnome-font-viewer symbol.ttf`
Actual results:
GNOME Font Viewer shows blank white window (see screenshot). Terminal output is empty, .xsession-errors is clean.
Expected results:
GNOME Font Viewer shows font preview.
Note: the font file is not damaged, it opens normally with `mate-font-viewer`.
