Bug Description
Binary package hint: gmail-notify
If using a GTK theme with white text this is invisible on the GMail Notify popups (I only knew there was supposed to be text because some of the GMAIL logo was covered in white lines). This is not too serious an issue, since it still fulfills the job of notification, but would be nice to fix (I do not know what the text is meant to say, perhaps it is useful to be able to read it?). I have added it to the growing list at https:/

Yeah, it's quite annoying when this happens :-/
I've attached a patch that adds a new background image (inverted colours) and adds an option to the config screen to 'use dark background'
note that gmail-notify has to be restarted for this option to take effect, but that's also the case with changing languages as far as the pop-up is concerned.
if you don't want to patch: d/l attached patch, extract 'background2.jpg' and save it as /usr/share/ apps/gmail- notify/ background. jpg
