gksudo does not remember sudo timestamp from GNOME menu

Binary package hint: gksu

If I do a 'sudo ...' in a gnome-terminal, type in the password and see a successful execution of the command and then run synaptic from the 'System->Administration->Synaptic Package Manager' menu, gksudo still asks for a password. If I run the gksudo command (gksudo --description /usr/share/applications/synaptic.desktop /usr/sbin/synaptic) in the same gnome-terminal, no password is required. It would be nice if gksudo remembered what happens with sudo.
