Bug Description
Binary package hint: gimp
I'm a netbook user with a 10" screen, and GIMP's "open" and "save" dialogs go off the screen if "Select file type" is toggled. Upon toggling it back, the problem persists, and there's no way to make the dialogs smaller, not even the "resize" command in the Window Menu (only resizes horizontally).
This is on Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala UNR with GIMP version 2.6.7-1ubuntu1, using GNOME desktop.

confirming for lucid.
I wonder if netbooks with 1024x600 are generally a supported platform for gimp. On the other hand, I don't see an alternative, slimmed-down graphics manipulation program.
