Bug Description

steps to reproduce:

  1. start `gedit`
  2. produce a line with > 1000000 characters, e.g. with `ipython` in `gnome-terminal` where you can run `"1" * 1000000` and select all output and copy it
  3. paste into `gedit`

Parts of the line seems to be rendered over other parts of the line. This doesn't occur with 100000 characters. See attached screenshot for an example.

I tested it and the display bug occurs at 466034 characters and more, and selecting the text doesn't work anymore with lower character counts.
