Bug Description

When I did a search in Gedit with a large text file (about 101 KB), the editor hangs and used high CPU load.
When I shut down the application, a dialog box appears: The Window "history.log (/var/log/apt) - gedit" is not respondig. This dialog box is attached.

THIS IS REALLY ANNOYING, the immediatly starting search function stalls the program in long files (e.g. I want to search for "def", it stalls the program with searching all d's and so on (gedit gets greyed out) for a minute)
You can add an option to preferences, if user wants immediate search for every letter you enter.
Please fix this asap.

Workaround: always use the replace dialogue box for searching text.

This is still present in 16.04 LTS. Disable on-key event, instead make Search button (enter) to start the actual search after user have finished string input!

It seems to be notable in html files when highlighting is on.
