gdebi-gtk crashed with DebError in compressed_part_name()

Binary package hint: gdebi

Trying to install Google Chromium .deb file from http://www.google.com/chrome/intl/en/eula_dev.html?dl=unstable_i386_deb in an Ubuntu Karmic Koala Alpha 4 virtual machine under Windows XP.

Ubuntu had just been updated to the latest packages on this date 8/16/2009.

I downloaded the .deb file, right-clicked and selected 'Run with Gdebi' from the context menu.

gdebi-gtk started and attempted to install the package, but halted with an error and asked if I wished to report a bug.
