Bug Description
Binary package hint: fontforge
When opening a TTF hinted font, in the Glyph window, Fontforge has the option 'Edit instructions' and 'Debug'.
However the packaged Fontforge in Ubuntu does not enabled the Debug option since it is not compile with the freetype source accessible.
The Hinting Debug option is very useful when working with Hinting instructions. Being only able to edit them without being able to debug them means one must generate a font, load it and test it every single time there is a change in instructions.
Having the Debug option allows one to just test the instructions step by step on a specific glyph and quickly fix what need to be fixed.
To enable the Hinting Debug option the freetype source must be accessible during Fontforge's compilation. This is currently not the case and causes a major missing feature in the packaged Fontforge.
This is also a bug in Debian.
Considering Ubuntu already compiles Freetype with TrueType instructions enabled, it should not be an issue to compile it with Fontforge.
