Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree

I noticed that after the jaunty upgrade, flash is not working, so I tried to reinstall it:

apt-get install --reinstall flashplugin-nonfree

I did not refuse anything, it simply failed...

workaround :
in a terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal) type :
sudo apt-get purge flashplugin-installer
sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer

I solved this by editing /var/cache/debconf/config.dat:

Look for flashplugin-nonfree/httpget and change Value to true.

Correction: Doing the aforementioned change allows the installation
but the value get reverted after trying to view flash media and trying to
"install additional plugins".

I experienced the same after upgrading to jaunty beta, flashplugin-nonfree reinstall failed with the same error message as above.
It worked though when I marked the package for complete removal in synaptic and then afterwards installed it again.

Yes, funny, although reinstall did not work, a remove and install did! (I thought the semantics were the same, but anyway...)

Still I'd keep the BUG open because I think it can be easily solved and even this little workaround is unnecessary.

I think it's because flashplugin-nonfree isn't maintened, or something like that. try adode flash plugin.
