Bug Description

When clicking on a link containing a document associated with OpenOffice 2 (.sxw, .doc, .odt, ...), Epiphany will ask you :

"Save as, Cancel or Open ?"

If you click on "Open", nothing will ever happens. I tried different links, with OOo already started, etc... Nothing.

Opening PDF with Evince works well. I don't know what can cause this bug.

I'm on a very fresh Breezy.

I can reproduce this on a fresh breezy install.

Nautilus opens the file fine when double-clicking.

Thanks for your bug. That's an upstream issue, I'll forward it to bugzilla.gnome.org (you could that directly ploum ...)

As only Ubuntu users seemed to have the bug, I tought it was an Ubuntu one.

But I will post it to gnome bugzilla.

if you have information about a bug beeing Ubuntu specific please say so when you fill the bugs. We don't have any specific patch for that though. What other distro did you try? Was that the exact epiphany-browser/GNOME versions?

Following chpe on #epiphany, it's a bug in Gecko, so indeed upstream. people who tested it on others distro always had "automatically download and open" checked.

So this is indeed an upstream bug but who must be filled against gecko...

I can't reproduce. I click on http://ploum.frimouvy.org/textes/article_ua.sxw and epiphany downloads it, then opens OO.o writer with the article. (It's something in French about Free Software.)

(I'm using dapper.)

Jeroen, can you try with "download and open automatically" *not* enabled ?

Clicking the link in firefox (from Dapper) opens a new tab with the title of the document, but similarly does nothing.
Right click -> Save As works as expected.

epiphany's upstream has pointed http://cvs.fedora.redhat.com/viewcvs/rpms/firefox/FC-4/firefox-1.0-uriloader.patch?rev=1.3&view=auto which could fix the upstream, I've applied the patch to firefox and that fixes the issue for me

Yes, Lionel Dricot.

I can reproduce now. I get a window asking me to open/save/cancel, I click open, nothing happens after download.
