[HARDY] Firefox print failure, default papersize erroneously Letter in German install

As requested in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/10910/comments/18 - filing as a new bug.

The Firefox print medium size defaults to US Letter in a German Hardy install, however the papersize should default to A4 or be derived from a global configuration that defaults to A4 for any installation that is not run in the USA.

I have the same problem. But my system is english with en_DK.UTF-8 locale. I have A4 in /etc/papersize and I have a printer that is setup to use A4. When I print from Firefox it always prints letter. I have Swedish as default language in Firefox.

A workaround is to create a script for changing prefs.js for all users, but that's not really a great solution...
