Bug Description

I just upgraded to jammy, and the mouse cursor now becomes comically huge whilst it's over a Firefox window.

I suspect this might be something to do with this being a HiDPI laptop.

I'm also fairly upset about the overcomplicated - and apparently broken - snaps being enforced on me, so I've fixed this by uninstalling snapd, and obtaining Firefox directly from Mozilla instead - which works absolutely fine.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and help make Ubuntu better.

Firefox is provided by a snap published by Mozilla and not by Canonical. They may not be aware of this issue so please contact them via https://support.mozilla.org/kb/file-bug-report-or-feature-request-mozilla and link the bug report here so it can be further tracked. Thank you!

Sorry, I am opposed to Canonical forcing snap on Ubuntu users and do not wish to spend my personal time on supporting that.

I'll just use a non-snap distribution mechanism instead.

Funny, this looks like the opposite of bug #1970663.

Can you share more information on your setup? Screen resolution, desktop environment, cursor theme, and maybe a screenshot or screencast demonstrating the problem?

Mostly uncustomized out-of-the-box Ubuntu, the one notable choice being to use the gnome-xorg session type (declining to use the Ubuntu customisations to gnome-session, declining to use Wayland)

More than that, I can't give you, as I've long since uninstalled snapd, and am unwilling to reinstall it.

Thanks for the additional information anyway.

Let's keep the report open in case someone with a similar set up comes across it and can help understand the problem.
