Bug Description

This bug applies to all Firefox versions since Unity brought global menus. However, only Firefox is affected, I've not observed any other app with a similar issue.

What I expected:
 * Activating a menu item to simply display the relevant menu and cause no further interface changes

What happened instead:
 * Activating a menu item displays the relevant menu and introduces a space between the titlebar and tabs

The change is persistent as long as the window is open. Resizing or maximizing makes no difference. Enabling and activating menus from the title bar causes the exact same effect. Closing the window and reopening it from History's "Restore Closed Windows" removes the space. In other words, it does not affect newly opened windows.

I don't understand. Do I do that after triggering the bug in any window? Or do it whether the bug is triggered or not?

"apport-collect" is used to collect more information about your system and the affected package, then attach this information to this bug report so that developers could have sufficient information about this bug.
You can do "apport-collect 1576605" in a terminal window at any time.
In steps:
1- Open a terminal; search "terminal" in Dash
2- Type or paste: "apport-collect 1576605" inside the terminal (without the quotes)
3- Press "Enter"
4- Wait until it finishes; respond to any queries if necessary
5- Close the terminal

Let me repeat that question: do I do that after triggering the bug or not? I'm fully aware what apport-collect is and how to run it. What I'm asking is, do I do apport-collect after the bug has affected Firefox? Or does it not matter at all?

It affects me too. Ubuntu 16.04.1 (64-bit) with Unity. Please note: it's more visible with GTK dark themes. I'm using Arc Dark Theme. This happens with light themes too, but it's subtle with them. But with dark themes is very prominent.
