Ubuntu 9.10

My Firefox is not showing enabled "private browsing" option in Tools menu..nor it is saving the history. I think this is 'must cure' problem for me.

please take no offense in this question, but did you check your preferences whether your Firefox runs with Private Browsing enabled by default?

Edit -> Preferences -> [Tab] Privacy -- Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session
