Bug Description
I noticed that Ubuntu file associations are not working in Firefox 3 in the 9.04 Netbook remix. When I right click on a download and try to open the containing folder, I get an error because there was no associated application. Then I got the same thing trying to open a .deb. I'm not sure what is going wrong here, but it's very annoying.

I can confirm this also. looks similar to https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/bugs/ 133133
this has been kicking around for ages.. so whats the deal. firefox problem or Ubuntu packaging problem?
as i understand it firefox must use xdg-open etc to open the file manger.. is it?
anyway i thought it might be something with the unr interfacee so switched to classic desktop but the problem still occurs. ill look at ubuntu 9.04 standard (non-unr) to see if the problem happens there, im on my eee-pc at the moment.
so more information:
downloading a pdf it does give you the option to open with evince but if you choose to save, you cant double click to open.
you cant choose "open containing folder" in the above situation either.. in both situations it brings up a firefox launch application dialog.
so what can we do to get rid of this?
