Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox
After installing Xubuntu 8.04.1 onto a Dell Inspiron 7000 and installing all applicable updates, when clicking on a mailto: link, I am asked what I'd like to use to handle the mailto: request. HOWEVER, the only entry made available is Yahoo! Mail; if I want to use Thunderbird, I have to manually find and select the application in the filesystem. While I don't argue against allowing the user to choose between using a desktop mail client and a web mail client, it must be easy to make that choice.

Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation. Since this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work, I'm going to mark it as confirmed and let them handle it from here.
In the latest development release of Xubuntu, 9.04, the choices have expanded to "Evolution", "Gmail", "Yahoo". Apparently, the browser does not know I am using Xubuntu, which installs "Thunderbird" by default. I install "Claws-Mail", but neither of those is a choice. Evolution has not been installed on this default Jaunty Installation.
