Bug Description

On Ubuntu Lucid with a Packard Bell EasyNote TJ75, Intel Core i3 330M, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 installing the fglrx driver (both from the repositories and from the official AMD download page) results in broken video playback. That is where the video should be it's just black but you can hear the audio. I tried with various video players (totem, vlc ..) and various formats(avi,dvd,m4v,mkv,..). Flash in Firefox does work though..

Are you sure it's caused by the fglrx driver?

Make sure you have installed all of the following:

gstreamer0.10-plugins-base
gstreamer0.10-plugins-good
gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad
gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly
gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg

I cannot test Quantal because I see the laptop only now and then and do not have time to do lots of reinstalls
