Bug Description
Binary package hint: f-spot
I decided to try F-Spot for the first time in a couple of years and while investigating problems with importing images I came across all the bugs related to it changing EXIF data without warning. I decided to see if this had happened to me (the bugs are reported as fixed in the latest package in Ubuntu Lucid) and I found that the modification date on several thousand of my files had been changed to the date/time they were imported. On comparing the EXIF data of a few images to the backups I have it would seem that it hasn't changed the dates and times the photos were taken, but diffing the files reports there are definitely discrepancies.
So what has F-Spot modified about my files without my permission or knowledge? I'm tempted to do a mass restore from my backups just in case but this simply should not happen with a simple import operation.
I was going to post this as a question but decided it's a bug in that 1. it happens unexpectedly and 2. shouldn't happen at all.
For info, I did not have the files copied to my Photos library so they are all in the original location I imported them from.
Thanks.
