Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Received the following error when connecting the camera with USB - this has worked previously:

Error connecting to camera
Received error "Could not lock the device" while connecting to camera

Also received the following error:

Error connecting to camera
Received error "Unspecified error" while connecting to camera

Camera usually does not mount. Cannot import using F-Spot. Occasionaly camera will mount, but still cannot import. Unmounting camera and starting F-Spot does not correct the problem.

This is a repeatable error.

Thanks for the report, could you try the same with a new user created on your system? a similar issue was fixed during the jaunty cycle btw.

Changed in f-spot (Ubuntu):
assignee: nobody → Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs)
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Incomplete

Hello,

I have the same problem with 10.04. It was working for me with 9.10, but since I upgraded it no longer works. I get this with f-spot, nautilus, etc, I have no way of getting the pictures off my camera (Coolpix S600). It gives me this error :

Sorry, could not display all the contents of "NIKON DSC COOLPIX S600-PTP": DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

I tried starting apport with :

$ sudo service apport start force_start=1

and then accessing the camera but for some reason I get nothing in /var/crash
