Bug Description

I have two Google Mail accounts configured to send and receive email on evolution. One is personal and one is official. The official one is a GSuite account. Every day, and sometimes many times in a day evolution reports and inability to receive or send email from these accounts. The error reported is either an authentication error or a timeout error. A message popup shows an option to "reconnect". Clicking that opens up a dialog box for Google (OAuth) authentication and google asks me to allow GNOME Evolution to do this or that. I have to click allow and after that it may work or I may have to restart my computer to reconnect on evolution.

After I complete the authentication process I receive a message from Google that I signed in from an unknown device, whereas it is the same notebook computer from which I have been connecting for several months.

I am reporting this as an issue with evolution because Google for some reason treats it as a less secure app. In order to access my email from evolution I have to turn ON the "allow less secure apps" setting at Google.

Periodically, after working for a few hours, evolution may suddenly throw up a "timeout was reached" when sending a message. Then connections to imap folders also stops. I have to reboot in order to get things going again. After a reboot, the same message in the outbox, which was showing the timeout error gets sent

Thank you for your bug report, do you still have those issues? If so it's probably best to report the problem directly upstream on https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues

Hello Sirs, is this a joke? Tried Evolution for the first time looking of an alternative to Mozilla TB, it WOULD be nice (Maildir, etc etc) if I COULD use it also with my GSuite account imposed to me by the company I work for. The issue seems that Evolution just "forgets" the token/application password he gets via OAuth, not sure, no time to debug this stuff. I am very surprised that you didn't get the time to test this software with the largest and biggest mail provider in the world.
BTW I am on Ubuntu MATE 20.04.1 LTS with latest updates applied.

The problem persists after upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04. I have also reported directly on gitlab as suggested above
