in karmic beta, upgraded from jaunty

when launching evince xyz.pdf from an xterm i have the folowing message:

no :) (i use xfce4, from xubuntu jaunty upgraded to karmic with update-manager)
but i have selected in xfce4 stufff the 'launch gnome services" at startup. I guess it is supposed to do the right things.

when i launch the daemon (as user) i have the following messages :

** (gnome-settings-daemon:8099): WARNING **: Clipboard manager is already running.

do this should be filled as a bug against xfce4-something for lack of gnome services ?

when the dameon is launched, the evince message disappears.

ok, it's an issue when using evince without GNOME, something upstream should probably handle better

I see the same issue with totem in my lucid and with GNOME dm

I have a similar issue with evince in Lucid Server, basic X.org installation (no gnome desktop)

$ evince

** (evince:12592): WARNING **: Failed to create dbus proxy for org.gnome.SettingsDaemon: Could not get owner of name 'org.gnome.SettingsDaemon': no such name

(evince:12592): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to read the recently used resources file at `/home/UNIXHOME/agottschalk/.recently-used.xbel', but the parser failed: Failed to open file '/home/UNIXHOME/agottschalk/.recently-used.xbel': Permission denied.

** (evince:12592): WARNING **: Error creating last_settings file: Error opening file '/home/UNIXHOME/agottschalk/.gnome2/evince/last_settings': Permission denied

Segmentation fault
