Bug Description

eucalyptus 2.0~r1233-0ubuntu2, may affect eucalyptus 1.6.2 also (not yet verified).

* /etc/init/eucalyptus.conf checks for JVM_MEM, but there is no such variable defined on /etc/eucalyptus/eucalyptus.conf;

*/etc/eucalyptus/eucalyptus.conf defines CLOUD_OPTS as the additional options for eucalyptus startup (and, by default, carries one single option -- '-Xmx512m'.

Additionally, when changing options in eucalyptus startup we should not have to edit /etc/init/eucalyptus.conf; instead, we should use, as much as possible, upstream's /etc/eucalyptus/eucalyptus.conf.

@lborda, I believe it should be -Xmx512m. I seem to remember less introduced issues.

yep this is right: -XmXXXm is the correct one. You can also increase it
quite a bit if you want (2 Gb or so may help if you have the memory
available).

Thanks for your answers.
I believe this bug is still present since JVM_MEM is not found in /etc/eucalyptus/eucalyptus.conf.
Could we have this reviewed and included in upcoming updates?
