Bug Description
"eog --help" includes the information:
-n, --new-instance Start a new instance instead of reusing an existing
This suggests that eog without a -n should use an existing instance. It doesn't. In fact "-n" seems to have no effect at all.

I can't confirm this bug on Ubuntu 12.04. It seems like it always does a new instance for me.
