Bug Description

eog (image viewer) in Ubuntu 16.04 won't display large (~5.0 mb filesize or larger) jpg images. It used to work fine with images from my Canon T3i DSLR now it just displays a blank screen. eog still works with smaller sized images like those from an iphone

It also affects PNG files. 14.1MB 16000x14000 PNG file, no thumbnail, image viewer shows all black. Other applications can open the image just fine including browsers.
