Bug Description
Binary package hint: eee-applet
Just upgraded my EEE 1000 to Karmic, and installed the eee-applet from the repos because the guy who maintains eee-control applet hasn't released a karmic .deb yet. Anyway, I installed eee-applet and ran it with:
gksudo eee-applet
and it pops up a system tray icon, but none of the features listed under the icon do anything. It seems to be looking for something in /proc that isn't there. For example, if I try and change the CPU fan speeds I get:
sh: cannot create /proc/eee/
sn_launcher_
sh: cannot create /proc/eee/
Or if I try and set the CPU frequency:
sn_launcher_
/usr/share/
Or finally, if I try and turn on the SD card reader:
sn_launcher_
sh: cannot create /proc/acpi/
The version of eee-applet I'm using is: 0.2
My kernel version is: 2.6.31-13-generic
Any ideas?
same here on Lucid and Asus Eee pc 1005HA
for example after running the eee-applet form terminal and choosing to enable card reader I get this error fan_manual: Directory nonexistent
#sh: cannot create /proc/eee/
