Bug Description

Binary package hint: eclipse

Copy/paste functionality using keyboard shortcuts in Eclipse became very unreliable after upgrading from xubuntu 10.10 to 11.04. No noticeable pattern: Could copy/paste the exact same way over and over and get hit-and-miss results. Using mouse menus for copy/paste appears to work fine. On failure, pasted contents are empty.

When copying using keyboard shortcut in eclipse, xfce4-settings-helper throws:
(xfce4-settings-helper:3137): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_clipboard_set_with_data: assertion `targets != NULL' failed

...this does not occur when copying from within eclipse's Edit menu, only with Ctrl+c.

A workaround is to disable (or kill) the xfce4-settings-helper process, at the expense of the services it provides. After this process is disabled, the copy/paste functionality is flawless.

Switched to open-source radeon driver so kernel is no longer tainted. Problem persists.

I experience the same symptoms, but the thrown error is different:

(Thunar:1892): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: g_file_info_get_attribute_uint32: assertion `G_IS_FILE_INFO (info)' failed

Also running the xfce desktop environment on 11.04.

I had the same problem, but it was caused by a clipboard manager (Pastie) I used. Removing it (actually replacing it with another solution named "Glipper") made this annoying effect go away.

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version.
