Bug Description
Binary package hint: ebsmount
ebsmount:
Automatically mounts EBS (Elastic Block Storage) devices when they are
attached, supports formatted devices as well as partitions, uniquely
identifiable mount points, and hooking scripts execution upon mount.
Availability: uploaded to universe 2010-06-14
Rationale:
- This package provides useful functionality for images inside EC2 and UEC. It allows actions to be taken on attachment of an EBS volume to an instance.
Security: see below
Quality Assurance: This package is fairly small, and cloud-specific in intent. The turnkey linux folks are actively developing it.
Dependencies: all dependencies in main
Security:
Per "docs/README" in the package
| - Once a filesystem is mounted, EBSmount will execute scripts in
| alpha-numeric ordering located in MOUNTPOINT/
|
| - This provides a very powerful mechanism. In its simplest form, the
| user might want to symlink the mountpoint to a more accessible
| path, for example:
I've opened bug 594340 to address the security issue above. Until this is resolved, this MIR is not ready.
[Note, this bug is opened against cloud-utils, but will be moved to ebsmount when it reaches universe]
