Bug Description
Binary package hint: dvgrab
Tried to import video from DV camcorder (Panasonic NV-GS2) with many tools, none of them succeeded (e.g. LIVES returned a message that no one can understand, something like 1394:could not find port, which was not user-friendly) but when running these applications with sudo, they did work, they successfully imported the dv files. So DV video grabbing through firewire needs sudo rights right now in karmic with all updates installed. Tried it on two laptops. LSPCI listed firewire on both of them without sudo, the port is accessible I think, so the problem might be with dvgrab.
