Bug Description
Binary package hint: dvd+rw-tools
using k3b, brasero, or command line growisofs will freeze my system approximately after 1 minute after starting the burning process, when I try to burn a dvd image to dvd+r using LG 4167B... no hotkey avilable, no ctrl+alt+del, no ctrl+alt+backspace, need to reset with power button.
my growisofs command line:
growisofs -Z /dev/sr0="test.iso"
I have tried using live "usb" from desktop i386 version (I am running server amd64 version on my hard disk) and even add "all_generic_ide" to boot option, with the same result.
the bug exists since upgraded from 8.04 to 8.10, fresh install 8.10, and fresh install 9.04.
in 8.04, I remembered I was able to burn dvds, but the dvd wasn't readable by windows at that time.

Cross reference bug 595603 with similar problem, on a 64-bit AMD system.
Have you tried this on a 32-bit live Ubuntu? You didn't specify whether the
desktop OS was 32 or 64-bit.
Attach the output of "dvd+rw-mediainfo /dev/sr0" command to the bug report.
Can you burn to any other DVD type media? Try buying a different brand of media,
or a different type of DVD media (i.e. DVD-R, DVD+RW, etc). and report the results
here.
