No view of the movie, just the sound

Bug Description

Binary package hint: dragonplayer

When I double-click on a AVI file, Dragon Player is launched, the movie starts, but I just can hear the sound. There is no view of the movie, a "transparent hole" is instead of the view.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Can you confirm that the same .avi plays as expected in a different player. Totem, VLC etc.

I have exactly the same problem in all the other player (Mplayer, Kaffeine...).
I had another problem with VLC, which crash just after having been started by double-clicking.

So it must be a "global" issue (I probably miss something or have a bad setting).

Nonetheless, I managed to play the file with VLC with the images and the sound by making a small (but annoying) setting.

I launch VLC with the terminal, go the Tools > Settings.
I have unchecked the option called "Integrate the vidéo in the interface" (or sthg like that, I have it in French, sorry).
And that works !

I hope this clue will help you to find what's bad with my Kubuntu.

I precise that I have nvidia-glx-180 installed.
I also have Cairo-Dock + OpenGL launched at startup. This might be the source of the issue. Let's see this page

OK.

I removed Cairo-Dock + OpenGL from start-up programs and replace it with Cairo-Dock (without OpenGL).

Now it works.

Kaffeine, Mplayer, Dragon Player and VLC encounter no problem.
