camera: 'open with...' pop-up when plugging in gives no options if f-spot is uninstalled

Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

If f-spot is installed it gives all kinds of options like 'do nothing', 'open folder' etc.
If uninstalled it gives 'no application' and user must go to desktop/places and click folder

Thank you for your bug report, what else would you suggest to happen if you don't install any application claiming to handle the camera there?

It should list the other options normally listed alongside F-Spot eg. 'Do nothing', 'Open in Nautilus'.
I also have DigiKam installed which it should also suggest?

This isn't a papercut because it doesn't effect the default Ubuntu installation.

digikam should probably claim to support cameras in its desktop entry then, the issue is not an hundredpapercut in any case since it's an issue only for people uninstalling the default installation softwares

the issue is probably a duplicate the dialog should let the choice to select a software if none is installed

Yes, it would be nice if, upon connecting media with photos (flash cards, USB sticks, cameras, etc.), the option to "Open with Digikam" were in the list of options.

The bug is old and Ubuntu changed quite a lot since, there has also been no activity here nor similar reports. Closing since we believe the issue as described is deprecated but feel free to file a new report if you still have problems in recent Ubuntu versions.
