Bug Description

Binary package hint: digikam

1) Intrepid (8.10)
2) Digikam version 2:0.9.4-1ubuntu1
3) Select an image, click Image->Set as Background->(any option) and digikam should set the desktop wallpaper to the selected image
4) Nothing happens. (when run from command line, "object not accessible" message is output)

My guess it isn't compatible with KDE 4 ;-)

KDE 4 version of digikam is to be expected in 9.04, it should take care of this.

Changed in digikam:
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Triaged

Digikam 0.10.0~beta8 doesn't seem to have this feature. I guess it hasn't been reimplemented in the KDE4 port.
The best thing to do would be to file a bug report at bugs.kde.org requesting the feature.
