Bug Description
The interface-mtu string in /etc/dhcp3/
So many people in Italy have trouble with that and have a awful experience with ubuntu because of something that could be so easily fixed. just google "interface-mtu fastweb" in google italia to have proof of that. Don't know why I can't find a bug report of this on launchpad, too many lazy people maybe.
At least, if you don't want to fix this bug, PLEASE make sure that every dhcp3 update won't override the file without asking, like it does now. I have to edit the file everytime the update manager updates the file. This is really annoying and could descourage any non expert user from adopting ubuntu.
I believe in linux and ubuntu, and speading it between all of my friends but bugs like this are a bit embarassing..

sounds more like a problem of fastweb pushing broken interface-mtu infos?
just a guess
