Bug Description

Running Intrepid Kubuntu Alpha1 (or maybe 2, but that's another problem) 64 bit on AMD64 PC with nVidia Geoforce 7600GS.
I've performed a distribution update prior to this new problem (grub only displays the -2 kernel and not 3 as expected).
If I go to System - Desktop effects and select Install Desktop Effects I get the Sorry KDialog window - 'Adept Batch is not installed on this system'.
If I go to terminal I get the following:
kevin@knm-dt1b:~$ sudo apt-get install adept
[sudo] password for kevin:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
adept is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
kevin@knm-dt1b:~$ sudo apt-get install adept-batch
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
adept-batch is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
So KDialog is telling me that I haven't got adept batch, but terminal apt-get tells me it's already installed.

It's likely you have removed (or not installed) kdesudo.

Marking as dup of #219729.

kdesudo can't have been installed by default in Alpha1 as I did not remove anything and this was the first attempt at installing anything.
