Bug Description
Binary package hint: debian-installer
When installing a machine fresh using the server images, (x86 or amd64), I'm presented with a dialog window asking if I want to skip installing grub. If I answer "yes", the installation fails within seconds for lack of grub installation. If I answer "no", then I am immediately presented with the same dialog window.
This has been happening for several weeks following an upgrade to one of the grub packages so the problem may be there rather than in the installer, but the bug filing instructions say to file it here instead.
Note, the repeating dialog can also be seen by following the upgrade path, either from an earlier lucid installer or from a 9.10 installer. However, since the earlier installation will have installed grub, the upgrade appears to function.
I'm running on vmware fusion v3 running on a fully patched snow leopard on a macbook pro. The vmware fusion box is the v3 default with "easy install" turned off, (doesn't work for server installs anyway).
beta1 fresh distribution works for both i386 and amd64. However, updates from 9.10 still do not.
