Bug Description

Hello,

According to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage#When_installing_Ubuntu_.28or_Derivatives.29 bugs in the installer (of Ubuntu Server) need to be reported against the package debian-installer.

I got a weird partitioning setup after having done a manual partitioning.
I created one primary partition for the root/slash partition (with 10GB) and two extended partitions tagged as Linux LVM.

Partition table:

Disk /dev/sda: 1799.8 GB, 1799798437888 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 218813 cylinders, total 3515231324 sectors
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 262144 bytes / 786432 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x00021c16

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1536 19531775 9765120 83 Linux
/dev/sda2 19533310 3515229695 1747848193 5 Extended
Partition 2 does not start on physical sector boundary.
/dev/sda5 19533312 117187583 48827136 8e Linux LVM
/dev/sda6 117189120 3515229695 1699020288 8e Linux LVM

As you can see, /dev/sda5 has a size of around 50GB.
/dev/sda6 fills up the rest of the disk (which is around 1.7TB)

I then created the Volume Groups vgsystem and lxc in the installer. For vgsystem I chose the PV /dev/sda5 and to my big surprise the installer took a size of 1.6TB instead of the 50GB (which is the size of the partition).

I deleted and recreated the VG/PV but this bug could be reproduced all the time.

Here the pvdisplay output:

 --- Physical volume ---
  PV Name /dev/sda6
  VG Name lxc
